Education Structure

-The Faculty of Agriculture is one of Egypt 's most distinguished agricultural institutions with over 100 years in education, research, and extension activities.

  -The Faculty played an important role in education ,and knowledge generation carrying out research and other activities, matriculating thousands of graduates and postgraduates for Egypt , Arab , African and other countries.

  -The number of academic staff is 216 amongst them PhD holders of European, North American ,and other world universities. Many of them served as staff members of many world universities .Some of them are members of international scientific academies and associations.

Academic Degrees Awarded by the Faculty

The Faculty offers the following programs:

•  The Faculty awards the following degrees:- (A)-Graduate degrees of B.Sc.in: Agriculture, General Agriculture, Agriculture and Education ,as well as specialization in one of eleven specializations . (B) Post-graduate degrees of High Diploma, M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees .

•  (A) B.Sc in Agriculture: All B. SC. students get same study program for the first two year (4 semesters) studying the following basic courses:

1-Basic Sciences: Botany, Chemistry, Physics, Economics,, Mathematics, and Zoology.

  2-Agricultural Sciences: Agronomy, Microbiology, Food Technology , Horticulture, animal Husbandry , Physiology , Statistics, Soil science and Agricultural Engineering.

3. Courses in Production of Certain important Field Crops and horticulture Crops.

After ending successfully these two years, the student completes the study program for two further years in one of 11 specializations .

Students who pass the 3rd year exams must do a summer training course in their major for at least one month.

 Postgraduate Diplomas

Candidates for Postgraduate Diplomas should be B.Sc. Graduates .The duration of the study is one academic year, in two semesters .At the end of each semester the candidate should sit examinations on the required courses.
